These terms govern your use of the Sightlore mobile app and the sightlore.app website. By using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Sightlore is a travel app that introduces places to visit through a map, Lorescope (recognising buildings through the camera) and short stories, and turns visits and contributions into a game with points, badges and rewards. Features may change, be added or be removed over time.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Sightlore is not for children under 13. Profile photos and bios are for people aged 18 and over.
- Collecting points with multiple accounts, impersonating others and creating fake accounts are not allowed.
3. Content rules
The following are not allowed in your reviews, photos, place suggestions, profile or messages:
- Nudity, sexual content, violence, hate speech, harassment or threats
- Advertising, spam, misleading or fake information
- Photos taken by someone else and content that infringes copyright
- Sharing other people's personal information without permission
- Any unlawful content
Photos and place suggestions are published after our team approves them. We may remove content that breaks these rules, take back the related points and rewards and, where necessary, suspend or close the account.
4. Use of your content
You must own the rights to the content you submit. Your content remains yours, but you give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to show it in Sightlore and in promoting Sightlore. Approved photos that become a place's cover photo and places added from your suggestion may stay published, with your name removed, even if you delete your account.
5. Points, the wheel and coupons
- Points, badges, spins and coupons have no cash value; they cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money.
- Points are calculated on our server. Points and rewards gained through cheating, automated tools, location spoofing or abusing loopholes will be taken back.
- Spins are earned only through approved contributions. Prizes and their odds may change.
- Coupons are discounts offered by partner businesses; the business is responsible for the coupon conditions and for its own service. Each coupon can be used once.
6. Pro and purchases
- Pro is purchased as a Travel Pass (7 days), monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase; the current price is shown on the purchase screen.
- The Travel Pass is a one-time purchase, not a subscription; it ends on its own after 7 days and does not renew.
- Subscriptions renew automatically through the store unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancellations and refunds are handled under the store's rules and in its subscription settings.
- Pro gives no point, badge or leaderboard advantage.
- Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
7. Stay safe
Watch your surroundings while exploring with the camera. Do not use the app while driving. Do not enter private property, closed areas or dangerous places; follow local rules and opening hours. Information in Sightlore is for guidance; opening hours, access and safety conditions can change.
8. Accuracy and sources
Place descriptions and stories are adapted from open sources such as Wikipedia, Wikidata and OpenStreetMap, and their sources are credited (CC BY-SA, ODbL). We take care to be accurate, but mistakes can happen; you can report them in the app. The service is provided "as is"; to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time (see the Delete account page). We may close accounts that seriously breach these terms.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will announce important changes in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence are not affected.
