How it works
Open Lorescope and raise your camera; the names and distances of nearby buildings appear in the direction where they stand. No more guessing what you are looking at.

Every place has a 60-second story, read by a natural-sounding narrator. It keeps playing with your phone in your pocket and the screen locked.

Eiffel Tower
The 'Iron Lady' was built by Gustave Eiffel's company from 1887 to 1889 as the centrepiece of the 1889 World's Fair, marking the hundredth anniversary of the French Revolution. Its design is credited to two of his senior engineers, Maurice Koechlin and Émile Nouguier. At first, some of France's leading artists and intellectuals criticised it; today it is one of the most recognisable structures in the world.
"I'm here" only works when you are really there. Your first visit earns points, and the place is added to your travel map.

12Audio stories
No need to stare at the screen. Stories are short, curiosity-sparking and told in a natural voice, so you can keep walking.
Features
I'm here
When you arrive somewhere, say "I'm here". You appear on that place on the map and share your mood and a short note. The check-in disappears on its own after 3 hours.
Explore your city
See how much of your city you've explored, where you've been and what's still waiting for you. Places you've visited drop out of suggestions; mark the ones you saw before the app with one tap.
Rewards
Points only come from places you really visit and from what you give back to the community. No paid advantages, no shortcuts.
When you add a photo of a place or suggest a place that is missing from the map, our team reviews it; if approved, you earn points and 1 wheel spin. Exploring half of a city in person also earns a spin. Spins cannot be bought and are not handed out daily; prizes are points, badges, partner coupons and, rarely, a 7-day Travel Pass.
| First visit to a place | +10 points |
|---|---|
| Approved photo | +20 points · 1 spin |
| Approved new place suggestion | +50 points · 1 spin |
| Completing a route | 30–60 points · badge |

First contribution, place explorer, a badge for every route, city badges, and rare badges from the Wheel of Fortune.
Refreshed every Monday: "I'm here" at 3 places, 2 reviews, 3 route stops, 1 approved photo.
See where you stand each week. Pro gives no points or ranking advantage; everyone plays by the same rules.
Turn your points into coupons from businesses that partner with Sightlore; just show the code at the till. Partners are being added, starting with our pilot cities.

Submitted photos and new place suggestions are never published until our team approves them. Fake content earns nothing.
We do not keep your location history. When you say "I'm here", you appear at the place, under a nickname if you prefer.
A review, photo or profile reported by three different people is hidden automatically and sent to our team.
You and the person you block will not see each other on the map, in reviews, on the leaderboard or on profiles.

Stories are compiled from Wikipedia and other open sources, and each story shows its source in the app. Every date and number is checked against the source text. If you spot a mistake, tap "Report an error" under the story and we will check the source and fix it.

Yes. Stories are read by a natural-sounding narrator, and that is free. Playback continues with your phone in your pocket and the screen locked; pause or skip 15 seconds from the lock screen. With tour mode on a route, you get a nudge as you approach each stop.
Lorescope is our feature that shows the names and distances of nearby buildings in the direction where they stand when you raise your camera. Tap a card to open that place's story. Guests get 2 discoveries a day and members 3; Pro is unlimited.
When you say "I'm here", mark a route stop or open a story on the spot, the place is added to your visited places. Mark places you went to before using the app with "I've been here" on the place page. The city percentage is the share of the city's places with stories that you have visited. Places you've been are no longer suggested. City badges and points are earned only from on-the-spot visits.
In the free version you may occasionally see cards labelled "Sponsored". They are always clearly labelled and never affect ratings, rankings or suggestions. Pro hides sponsored cards.
The Travel Pass is 7 days of Pro: unlimited Lorescope, whole-region offline downloads, no ads and the other Pro features for a short trip. It is not a subscription and simply ends when the 7 days are up.
In the app go to Settings → Delete account. Your account is permanently deleted after 30 days; until then you can sign in and change your mind. Public content such as your reviews stays without your name, shown as "Traveler". Details are on the Delete Account page.
